While we are Innsbruck (see my blog here) we’d planned to head into Switzerland, en-route home, as our next stop. However consulting our campsite app we found a site not 20 miles from where we were that looked interesting. It was on the edge of a small town and quite high up at around 1250 metres. One of the joys of our sort of motorhoming is that you can go where you want without any real planning so we did! Very glad we were too, I’d argue it was one of the best sites we’d stayed on in the whole trip.
The views from and around our pitch were stunning. Equally the town of Seefeld was very attractive with a good range of cafes, restaurants and supermarkets. We did have a day or so of rain however most of the time the weather was good. We were advised to go up the local tramway and onto the mountains and so watched for a day that looked largely cloudless.
The tramway – leaving from the edge of town – takes you part way up the mountain. then a cable car takes those that wish to up to a higher point. After than there is a good though high level track to the top of the mountain.
From Seefeld we really did start the run back to the Channel and simply stopped a single night in one or two places where I took nothing all that interesting in the way of pictures. All in all we reckon this was about the best trip we’ve had in a motorhome so far. Overall the run was just over 3100 miles and we were away for around 7 weeks. Not everything went right however we stayed in some great places, the majority of which were new to us both. It’s certainly given us the taste of exploring a little further afield on a future run.
