Exmouth beach in winter and monochrome

The past winter has not been great for getting out with the camera for a number of reasons.  However we managed a short break in Exmouth, Devon at the end of February (2016).  In the UK at this time of year I wasn’t expecting the best conditions however the weather was not too bad.  There was some rain and it was fairly cold and windy most days.  Equally it was possible to get out and walk on most days though there was one when it seemed to rain every time we set a foot out of the door!

The town itself is pleasant enough with a reasonable variety of shops and some good places to eat.  However the seafront is lovely and quite long.  This allowed us some good walks with even getting in the car most days.  In addition to the seafront, there is the opportunity to walk up the Exe estuary towards Exeter.  The images I took were nice enough and coloured version of the above are on facebook.  However, when I had desaturated them, I realised that the monochrome images worked well too.  I hope that they catch a feel of the sort of days we had there.  Fingers crossed I’ll be out rather more often again now.
